Children’s Day - A Day for kids

As we all know that children are future of the country. Children should be loved and treated well with respect. To give importance to children, Children’s Day is celebrated on 14th November every year all over in India. It is celebrated in the memory of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru to pay honor and respect. He was the first Prime Minister of Independent India and he is a true friend of the children. He loved them a lot and always kept them near to his heart. He was called as Chacha Nehru by the children.
He was very fond of children. He loved to spend quality time with children. To honour him, his birth anniversary was started celebrating as the Children’s Day. Chacha Nehru said that children are the future of the country so it is necessary to love and nurture them with care. Children’s day means to save the future of our young ones for bright future of the country. On Children’s day, fun and frolic activities like games, sports, indoor games, outdoor games, stall seller etc. activities and all. This day children are allowed to celebrate as they want. NO discipline, no restrictions. Students are motivated to show their talent at this occasion by participating in the different competitions or Challenges like painting, dress show, singing and cultural programs.
Sometimes, in our society children are forced for child labour for long hours at very little pay. They have not the right to go to school or any educational place this is the reason why they remain backward. It’s the time to raise our voice against Child labour. It’s our duty to take strict action against Child labour. These children are valuable asset and future leaders of the country as well as hope of tomorrow. Let’s Pledge to love and care to our young ones and Nurture them. Let them free from any discrimination, caste or greed and make a strong leader for our Future.

STORYTELLING IS A BEST ACTIVITY FOR DEVELOPING LEARNING SKILL IN CHILDREN

Children love stories. They enjoy the story time especially at night; they used to listen stories from their grandparents.  Stories create magical atmosphere. Stories teach us about life and its’ experiences. Story could be anything Fictitious or Non-Fictitious. Storytelling should be in a unique way for children to develop their understanding, respect, curiosity and appreciation for other cultures, and promote a positive attitude to people from different lands and religions.

Storytelling is very interactive. As a story progresses, children ask so many questions. Story creates curiosity in them. This is the best learning activity. A child's memory capacity is enhanced when they asked to remember something from a story. We should encourage children to create a small story with the characters they have been told about. This enhances imagination power and encourages the child’s active participation.

Storytelling helps to develop emotions and feelings in a child. It helps to increase verbal proficiency and also encourage the imagination power and creativity.

Between Stories and television, children show more involvement in story rather than watching TV. A storyteller’s should narrate the story in such a way that it should look real when a child is listening to story. He/ She can take the active participation in that story with enthusiasm.

Storytelling is very important for a child’s development. Don’t let your child miss this simple important part of childhood. Enjoy storytelling!

How To Be Your Child’s Best Friend?

Becoming your child’s best friend right from the early age, has a deep & long term positive impact on your relationship with them and makes parenting easier for you. Your child has a lot of first time experiences, while growing up. And therefore, he/she has a lot to talk about, like the new things that he/she tried, the lessons he/she learnt.
But many times, when your child thinks of sharing their thoughts about their little experiments or their issues & problems with you, they might wonder as to how you will react. They might fear that you will criticize them or scold them and thus, they will not feel free to show their experiences. So, here are some tips for you which you can use to become your child’s best friend!
Avoid from scolding your child:  Make your child realize her mistake by talking to her and calmly explain her with examples, what wrong she did. Avoid scolding the child as much as possible.
Share your experience with your child: If your child feels a little hesitant about sharing something with you, take the first step and tell her about what you felt when you had a bad score in the math test or when you made a mistake as a child. This will help you two to get along, effortlessly.
Make your child feel comfortable: Create a positive environment at your home in which your child feels comfortable while talking about her fears or worries.
Spend quality time with your child: Dedicate a day to your child. Spending quality time with your child provides her with the opportunity to be heard, to learn and to be loved. It allows you and your child to make connections that will last a lifetime.

In the end, remember that besides being your child’s best friend, you are also your child’s mentor.
